Day 17: Tuesday, February 8

Scripture Passage: James 2:2-4 NKJV

"For if there should come into your assembly a man with gold rings, in fine apparel, and there should also come in a poor man in filthy clothes, and you pay attention to the one wearing the fine clothes and say to him, "You sit here in a good place," and say to the poor man, "You stand there," or, "Sit here at my footstool," have you not shown partiality among yourselves, and become judges with evil thoughts?" - Jam 2:2-4 NKJV

My Observation:
God redeems the poor, meek, and humble.

My Application:
I am reminded of the man who was poor and homeless with the great voice. He wasn't born in a trash can but fell on hard times during his life. He was yet discovered and was blasted on YouTube. He was holding a sign that said he had nothing but his talent. He reverenced God repeatedly without shame. After this incident he was instantly awarded 'backpay" from heaven even though his past was his choices in life.

Video that first aired:

What an awesome God! This is true that the anointing is the burden removing, yoke destroying, power of God.

"It shall come to pass in that day That his burden will be taken away from your shoulder, And his yoke from your neck, And the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil." - Isa 10:27 NKJV

Isn't Jesus the Christ, the anointed one, the most greatest teacher?

"Then He lifted up His eyes toward His disciples, and said: "Blessed are you poor, For yours is the kingdom of God. ... "A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is perfectly trained will be like his teacher." - Luk 6:20, 40 NKJV

Jesus taught us that if we are like Him in the standards of merit and honor then we will be honored in Heaven. This is a great challenge that seems impossible as we fail daily, but thank God for the anointing and the blood of Jesus that destroys the bondage of sin and iniquity.

Just one of many video's after the first:

My God is impossible to beat on blessings!

My Prayer:
Lord, as I serve Your people, let me not judge them but serve them as You would. Keep me humble as I renew Your strength in myself and those whom You have sent me.

Monday's Message from Good Morning Girls

Don't show favoritism...show mercy!

Day 16: James 2:1 NKJV

WEEK 4 of the "James Study"
hosted by Courtney of the Good Morning Girls

Scripture Passage: James 2:1 NKJV

"My brethren, do not hold the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with partiality." - Jam 2:1 NKJV

My Observation:
Key words -
  1. partiality - respect of persons
  2. faith - 4) standards of merit, code of ethics, belief in anything (Dictionary.com)
Don't hide our Lord's standards of merit, who is of honor.

My Application:
If I am to serve God's people, I am to keep His standards of commitment without judgement of race, status, gender, or sexual preference. We are literally all of God's people if we are indeed created by Him as it is written.

My Prayer:
Lord, keep me just as I serve Your people. In Your kingdom we have no differences.

Day 15: Friday, February 4

Scripture Passage: James 1:26-27 NKJV

"If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one's religion is useless. Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world." - Jam 1:26-27 NKJV

My Observation:
It is my duty to look after those in need. My religious acts are useless if I don't separate myself from the world and its standards. How then can I call myself religious if I'm not pleasing God in my behaviors.

My Application:
I've got to see His plan through. I've got to k now for sure what God expects of me and follow that expectation with sincerity. I've got to look after those who He gave me the desire to help many years ago. I will not be a proper representation of God if I don't hear and do as he said, says, and wrote.

Friday closeout with Courtney...

Day 14: Thursday, February 3

Scripture Passage: James 1:25 NKJV

"But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does." - Jam 1:25 NKJV

My Observation:
God's word is liberating. It frees me from anything I feel or think has me trapped or bent toward sin.

My Application:
It is my responsibility to guard my entry gates and be honest with where I am spiritually. Where I am weak, God is strong. I have to apply the word of God to be effective in anything I plan to do.

My Prayer:
Lord, keep working on me. Show me teach me, tell me, dream it to me, thy will as it is in heaven.
