Scripture Passage: James 1:22-24 NKJV
"Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was." - Jam 1:22-24 NKJV
My Observation:
I am supposed to do what the Word of God says and not just read it as if it was a non-fiction story.
My Application:
If I call myself a believer of Christ, I am supposed to keep my mind and heart available to His teachings. A "teachable spirit" is a spirit walking in obedience.

Day12: Tuesday, February 1
Scripture Passage: James 1:21 NKJV
"Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls." - Jam 1:21 NKJV
Word review: implanted - to put or fix firmly: to implant sound principles in a child's mind. (Dictionary.com)
My Observation:
I am to make a total transformation, an altercation that has a permanent mar or turn in my behavior.
My Application:
I need to let Gods word form a new root. Put aside all stupidity, things that don't matter, wrong doing, etc. and take on the word as if it was a "boob job". Literally, an implanted will.
My Prayer:
Lord, I command Your word to take and implant a root in my heart. Change my very being to function as if I was Your robot.

S.O.A.P. (Scripture, Observation, Application, Prayer) Notes from my quiet time:
My Observation
In trials and tests, it is necessary to keep the way of God in outward and inward behavior.
My Application
- Enduring trials will lead to a crown of life
- Yielding to temptation will lead to death physically
- In the midst of trials and tests be slow to speak, swift to ear, and slow to anger
This was a very relevant to this past weekend. It was like my husband was getting on my nerves so easily. I could not get why I was so irritated with him. Now I see! Do not yield to the temptation to react in anger or irritation it is only a trial. I also kept my cool when my 8-month old went berserk on Sunday. Everything in the world happened as I was trying to leave for church. I did not sweat, cry, cuss, or slam anything--just kept my focus on God.
